A closeup of my 2011 NASA Nationals award.
Being clear, it was hard to get a good pic of it; lol.

NASA is a good group to run with, I highly recommend the MW/GL regions if you haven't attended. They are ran by the same guy - Dave Royce. We do a small/quick awards ceremony every Saturday night; immediately after the FREE FOOD & BEER. So that brings everyone down! It might last 15min in total.
Here's a pic from the August Mid Ohio TTA Awards. That day I broke the track record with a 1:33.2 and took 1st. Coincidentally this was the same podium at Nationals... but rearranged a bit:

Man!!! We need you to beat the douche in the sandals!
I am impressed they gave you podium girls! Ha ha!
I know!
Actually in addition to that, they had some local High School's dance team just to the left and they did like little 15-30sec dealios before each group (like ALL of TT) was announced. I didn't know whether to like it or keep to myself given I'm pretty sure they were all High Schoolers and odds were somebody knew or was related somewhere close!
ha ha!! Got to keep those to yourself to be safe!
Here's follow up from some data I posted back in July
Average speeds (per lap per my GPS) for local tracks using my best laptimes:
- 74 mph - Gingerman (Old) - TTB setup
- 77 mph - BlackHawk Farms - TTB setup
- 79 mph - Gingerman (Long)
- 81 mph - Autobahn
- 83 mph - Mid Ohio (Club)
- 85 mph - Putnam Park
- 85 mph - Gateway Int'l - TTB setup
- 86 mph - Mid Ohio (Pro)
- 89 mph - VIR Full - TTB setup
- 97 mph - Road America
Note my TTB setup is usually 2-3 seconds per lap slower than my 2011 TTA setup.
Dec 3-4th - NASA SE @ Road Atlanta...
Already 48 cars registered in TT; 7 in TTA (my class). Hmm...
11.5 hr trek each way though...

Just a heads up that I'm traveling this week for work. So limited access to the internet; and thus updates.
Just logged on to see if there's any word on the new rules and/or schedules and didn't see anything yet. Later....
While I mostly have built the car and run with NASA, one of the organizations I've ran with is called Global Time Attack (GTA) - picking up where a previous organiation called Redline Time Attack (RTA) left off.
2011 was the first year for GTA and they partnered mostly with NASA; buying tracktime at a few events. One included Autobahn in Sept, 2011 which I unfortunately did not make as it was 1 week after NASA Nationals and I had plans to attend an annual beer festival in St Louis. haha.
Anyways.... GTA announced their 2012 schedule. Nothing around here. NJMP and Road Atlanta are the closest of their 6 events.
Put myself on the waitlist for Road Atlanta; Dec 3-4.
It'd be pretty neat to make first-time trips to Mid Ohio, Road America & Road Atlanta this year!
No word on my waitlist situation for Road Atlanta. Sounds like it's a no-go. Hell, I'd be several hours deep into the drive 1 week from today! (Friday).
Sorry to hear the last race is a no-go. Always looked forward to your runs.
No biggie. While I was stoked to give Road Atlanta a try, I'd already mentally checked out for the winter! It would have been a crazy rush this week just to make it and likely put me into a madrush all the way till x-mas because of it.
For some positive news, I did reconnect the battery and fired up the Evo on Friday when it was near 60. Started right away and purred... Officially 24603 on the odometer; I think I've been saying it's got 25k all year! lol.
They recently released the local NASA track schedules for 2012. My local region is the MW (Midwest) which is ran by the same group as the GL (Great Lakes). So I have those schedules which really helps map out my year.
I also have the schedules for some other regions that I might travel to for a few events, like the MA (Mid-Atlantic), SE (SouthEast), MS (MidSouth) and Central.
Phew....
One thing I never listed out was ALL the top times per class and what type of car won them. So here's the info, along with a brief reminder of the power/weight per class.
Note; I competed in TTA; with a best of 1:32.8

TTD - 1:39.8 - Mazda Protege

With a little Aero work and power you could compete in TTU, my guess.
Not to take anything away from my friend that won TTU. But the regional record (held by Danny Popp no less) is a 1:26.6 - over 3 seconds faster than the winning time at Nats; and also faster than the TTR time! Needless to say; Popp wasn't there!
Ya never know who's going to show up; that's how the ball bounces sometimes.
TTS; which was 1.7 faster than my class of TTA; is the next bump in classing that I might jump to. It'd be completely legal if I ran my same setup from this year; dropped 100lbs, added full aero (rear wing, front splitter, new bumper). Think that'd be worth 1.7 seconds?
In reality I'd change the setup a bit, but ya get the idea I'm sure.
The nameplates for our MW/GL Regional Championship awards recently came in the mail! Pretty.
Btw, the small list you can't really make out is a listing of all the tracks on the schedule - along with their specific emblem.
