You want to mimick the conditions on track. You can have the driver sit in the car and not move...lol. Or do what we did and plant weight in the car. We planted 164lbs to mimmick my weight.Originally Posted by wheatley

As always, my class min for TTA/PTA is 3263 lbs. That's what I have to weigh at the END of a race/session. So that's with driver, gear and usually low fuel. If I run a higher class like TTS/ST2 then my weight is dependent on my HP and tire size.
I had Buschur weigh the car when it was there; 3077 with no driver, 3/4 tank of fuel & spare tire.
Completely empty it should be right around 3000 lbs. That still includes about 100 lbs for a 4pt rollbar & Sparco passenger seat with harness setup.

I didn't weigh my a/c but I thought it was more than 20 lbs. Guess I will have to look for more stuff to pull out.

I just can't get myself to pull out AC...I still can't believe Emery @ STM got his white RS down to 2700lbs with AC, full size rad & full interior, ridiculous!!!

That is crazy. Assuming he pulled the crashbeams and has some CF doors?
I'd guess mine is close to 2850 if I run it almost empty, pull the passenger seat, spare tire and rollbar. That's still with all the crashbeams and glass - both of which are heavy.

As planned, pulled a ton of weight out of the car last night in preparation for the cage. I took some weight and notes and will share them shortly.
Total was just over 100 lbs...

So the Autopower 4pt rollbar finally came out of the car! I also had a chance to weigh everything. Altogether I've got it weighing 67 pounds. And it's for sale if anyone is interested.
46 - Main Hoop
12 - Side Supports
9 - Backing plates and nuts/bolts

The estimate I got was about 150 lbs including padding.
Here's what I removed over the last week:
- 67 - Autopower 4pt rollbar
- 36 - Sparco passenger seat, slider, bracket & belt
- 31 - Spare tire
- ------
- 134 lbs removed.
That doesn't take into account all the weight I removed from under the dash, misc bolts (left a ton out), lots of plastic pieces, gutting the dash and doors & 20+ lbs from the A/C. I've got nearly everything in a box that I need to weigh yet. When it all comes down, I think I'll need to add ballast back to the car still for PTA - as I need to be 3263 after a race (low fuel).

The headliner. Just the piece shown was 4.2 lbs. That doesn't include the 3 'Oh Shit' handles, the 2 lights or the sunglasses holder in the middle. I had already removed the visors; the driver's side I really missed in the early sunny AM at Road Atlanta too!
I also removed most of the plastic covers around the A/B/C pillars and door sills. I found these in the top middle, the bolt hole is actually where the stock seatbelt bolts into. I didn't weigh these specifically but they looked pretty beefy and are up really high in the car (ie center of gravity).

dunno if its legal or not but to help with sun protection get like a 8 in strip of tint put on the top of your windshield id say 20% or darker to help with sun issues and pretty much weighs nothing..Pics of things removed from the Evo!

I also got a tinted helmet screen - like it! Only problem is when it's closed it makes things sound a lot different; louder. I really need to wear ear plugs anyways...

Update!
Car weighed in at 3200 lbs this weekend with 1/2 tank of fuel and driver - post cage.
I could get it down to about 3160 lbs with driver and low fuel. There's nothing else 'extra' in the car to remove with that. I do have all the window glass, rear crash-beam and all door crashbeams still in the car. That's probably 75 lbs I could remove. After that it's gonna start getting difficult I think! Cutting would be involved...
By the way, I've got all the plastic interior parts available if anyone needs them. Most notably the door skins for all 4 doors:

Lowest official weight from last event was 3177 lbs.
That's post-race with driver and low fuel - with the front crash beam off.
Parts still in that probably will be removed for 2013:
- all door crash beams
- rear crash beam
- all window glass
- headlights
- rear windshield washer tank

Should have more weight coming out of the car prior to the next event:
- 17.6 lbs - Front crash beam and the 2 side connections
- 13.2 lbs - Both front headlights (found headlight deletes finally)
