Long story short, impossible. So here it is. I joined the Army as an Infantryman in 2004 after HS. I did four year and had enough. I said fuck the military I'm never joining again. That was in August of 2008. Shortly after, my wife wanted to join, but the recruiter fucked around on her paperwork and in the end didnt go due to being too old. While this was happening, I spoke with the same recruiter to try and join, but he said that the Air Force does not accept Prior Service unless you have a compatible AFSC. By March 2009, I was missing the military but knew I didnt care to be all hoorah and shit anymore so I joined the Air National Guard as a 1C0X2, Aviation Resources Management. This would give me an AFSC that I could try to get on to Active Duty with. Well, its been two years, I lost all hope until yesterday. I went and spoke with a recruiter and they told me that my current AFSC is on the shortage list for people with 6 years of service and it is extremely likely that I can get on to Active Duty. The only thing standing in my way is a DD 368 Condition Release form. My Wing Commander of the Guard unit that I am in has to sign it, saying that they will release me. And it gets worse, the short fall AFSC list get release every quarter. So I have to some how find a way of getting the Wing Commander to sign my DD 368 before July 1st. Im going TDY with this unit on July 1st to Puerto Rico also. Ugghhhh. I really hope this works out.
