Did you reuse the metal shims with the new pads?

^ or get some brake shims if you don't have the factory ones. They have "universal" shims at O'Reilly/AutoZone that you can trim to fit the Ferodo pads. Get some high-temp grease and use a liberal amount on the back of the pad and any place that the springs and pins touch. Should help a lot with the light braking squeak.

and did you resurface your rotors? and break them in afterwards? you can use this really sticky crap too. comes in a spray can spray it on the back of the pad, then the shim then spray the shim. then let sit. then install. stuff is crazy sticky. keeps the vibrations down and stuck into place. works wonders.

if you've done everything that was mentioned above then its the nature of the beast

theres also this stuff out there that we put on heavy duty brakes if need be. like big ford trucks and such. since sometimes they still squeal due to the pads. its called brake quite. you apply it directly to the pad and let it sit until its dry (like 5 minutes) works well too.

    just ideas.

Race pads squeal all the time under light pedal pressure. If they squeal under moderate to heavy pressure, something else is wrong, but it is totally normal under light pressure/normal street driving.

I wouldn't recommend running track/racing pads on the street though. Unless they are an endurance pad (like the performance friction pfc06) they will eat your rotors pretty quickly, not to mention that they dust like crazy.

I'm going to find a picture of my car at the track from a few weeks back. I had porterfield R4's on the front and project mu street pads on the rear, and you can see the difference in the amount of dust that is on the front wheels, and lack of dust on the rears.

    EDIT:
    here is the picture

Also depends on what pad. If its the Ferodo DS2500 you would be OK on the street. If its the 3000 then probably not so much.

I have DS2500s and the car is semi-daily driven. They are known for squeaking under light braking. Even after setting they will still squeak somewhat. It gets a little better, but definitely doesn't go away.

I used the DS2500 pads for 6 years and never had any noise issues when I used the high temp brake grease, shims and bedded them properly. If you are running those pads and they make too much noise then something isn't right.

hey um, did anyone run into the issue of grinding down the edge of the pad? Happens A LOT actually. Don't know why either but with a few pads it's become a norm to do that. The magic pad is one that will always have that done and I believe the ST ones too.

Sometimes you can do everything right but this will happen anyway.

My d2500s squeaked a lot when they were new. I think it only lasted for a few days to a week or so.

Not bad, sometimes they can glaze over if you come to a stop instead of roll through it.

Everything was done properly. AMS installed them, I bed them. The noise isn't all that bad. It's just a faint squeaking when coming to a stop. Sometimes it's completely silent, I'm sure heat plays a role as well.

I know a couple other EVOs that run the same pad and it makes the exact same noise as mine. For the first week it was reallllllllly loud, but over time it's really quieted down.

Im guessing they either weren't properly bedded in or its the material. I ran Hawk HP+ pads before a road course day and the squeek was at light breaking only. If its a race pad it will likely squeek no matter what but i always like to put a fresh surface on rotors before seating new pads.

I really don't like those wheels, I've been contemplating getting rid of them for something else for a while so there isn't really a point for me to have them painted/powdercoated

I've never liked them. The only reason I still have them is because they're light. I'd like to try and find a set of nt03's or pf01's from someone who would trade.
