    Well I had 3 goals in mind when I desided to hit thunder valley race way down in noble Oklahoma
    1) Come home safe and in 1 piece
    2)Drive the car back home and not in a towe truck LOL
    3)Finally run an 11 sec pass...
    well I accomplished 2 of the 3... and I beat my all time best of 12.2 but unfortunately I didn't break into the 11s thanks to my cheap $76 falken street tires which didn't hook for shit or would wheel hop like crazy...

    it was casual sundays LOL.... yeah I must admit I am a novice driver I do alot of street racing but not alot of track .... I got coilover coming in this week so I might give it a shot after they go in...

    i was thinking the same thing lol....

    im goin for the 11s second clock on april 7th at byron with stock turbo stock 02 and my bolt ons stock injectors stock fuel pump should be close i was 12.4 low... before i make some other changes and had more bolt ons put on but my tires are nitto nt-01s

    I think 5750 was the best launch 30psi on all 4 tires... just trowing that out their from my experience hopefully it will help as a starting point for you when u go...

    Damn, I would have figured with S1 cams & e85 you would have run 11s no problem even with those tires. I bet if you dropped tire pressure down to mid to low 20s you would have cut a 1.7X 60 ft. 2+ yrs ago I ran a 12.00 @ 114mph with completely stock long block, stock intake mani & TB, stock exhaust manifold & turbo @ 25psi on 93 oct. Only weight reduction was spoiler & spare tire stuff. This was with a crappy 6 spd too. If it didn't start raining right after that pass I would have had another run & probably dripped into the 11s on a very stock setup. Either way man, good job, you will get there! Like I said man, even with those "crap" tires try dropping the tire pressure down, you SHOULD be running 11.6-11.7 @ 116mph+ with your setup & power...Also, what are your shift points, what rpm are you shifting each gear at? If you are shifting too high you may be dropping out of boost & I assume you are running through the traps in 4th gear, correct?

    2) my tire pressure was 30PSI on all four
    3)I was shifting into 5th a couple of feet before the 1/4 mile marker....
    with that being said I appreciate the advice, I will keep that in mind next time I go...
    If I had a pound of boost for every time some one told me it should be running 11s It would blow up my motor LOL ... plus I just wanted to test my waters being the terrible
    driver I am...

    I have always been told if you get lots of wheel hop to, to drop about 3 psi. But thats just one of those he said she said things. I never tried it. And to respond to the earlier post. 12.7-12.8 is where I should be at I guess.

    7200 is probably a good rpm for you with your setup. Like I said before mid to low 20 psi tire pressure. NO shifting to 5th!! That definitely hurt your ET & MPH. If you didn't shift into 5th I bet your fastest run would be have been closer to a 12 flat. Up your rev limiter to 8000 & ride out 4th gear.

    How much boost is your LC building? I agree with the above tire pressure, maybe having to much boost on LC, would be my main places to start. Slipping the clutch to which you seemed to do and not dropping it so quickly will help as well

    I hook with tires on 32-35psi launching at 5500 @ 15psi on all seasons on the street lol. Track looked well prepped so I donno. Practice makes perfect I'm fully expecting to fail epically when going to the track myself lol

    I really regret now asking for advice before I went down to the track....
    you guys suure have alot of good info and tips I could of used while I was out there...
    but now I know so hopefully next time I can bring some 11s Home!!!!

    Next time you go try to do all your runs in the right lane. That left lane is always a little slick for some reason. Something I've noticed over the years of racing there.

    As it has been said up your limiter and stay in 4th. I leave mine in 4th and cross the traps at 120. Do you have a slip break down as far as 1/8 mile. Is that dynoed or VD for you 400 hp?

    it was a good run, lowering the tire pressure and coilovers will def help you!

    Haha i'm most likely going too. I'm not expecting to run anything better than a 13.5 though. It's also my DD, so I'm gonna try not to launch too many times and NLTS is definitely out of the question.

    Well, as fate would have it, my clutch started slipping pretty bad today. So, i'm definitely not hitting the track tomorrow. Also, if you know any good places in OKC to get a clutch or to get one installed let me know. I'll probably do it myself, but i'm just curious on prices.
