11's...........Check

So I went up to Palm Beach International Raceway yesterday to see if I can get that 11 sec timeslip. Got there very late so I only ended up getting 2 runs.

First run was 11.8 at about 116, the second run was 11.7 at about 116.
(115.79 or something, so 116 haha) Both with a 1.7 60'. The second run the 60' was slightly better.

8 MR, stock turbo @ 29 PSI, HKS 264/272 cams, bolt-ons, E85.

Also if the vid doesnt look too bad, I will post it up of me running a modded GTR at the track! Video of the race is craptastic so i am not posting it.
The slip on the left is my second run. I picked up alittle over 2MPH in the 1/8th but unfortunately ran out of 4th gear again haha.

Very impressive man!! All these stock turbo guys getting in the 11's. I couldnt get there with my green but i was a noob and couldnt get a better 60' than 2.0

. This year...I hope that changes. Congrats on the run man. That is some impressive driving!!

It sucks having the 6 speed at the track, crossing the traps at about 8000 RPMS in 4th. Lol, Definitely need to do the 5 speed conversion once I decide to get the tranny built!

Haha, your telling me! I've been beating on my 6 spd for over 6 yrs now!! I have to shift to 5th at around the 1k marker or I will bounce off my 8300 rev limiter, sucks!!

Great driving and Congratulations on your 11 sec time slip!

And yea even with the 5th gear conversion you might bounce off the rev limiter all depends on your setup, tires, rev limit, gearing. I remember bouncing off the rev limit in my 5 gear setup on my old evo in fourth and i was set at 8500. Non the less congratulations again! Anymore goals in the near future?

Get a ported intake manifold and throttle body and possibly a tubular manifold or port my stock one. See if i can get deeper into the 11's. Probably start having to shift to fifth considering I am out of 4th, so I can get some more MPH out of it.

Tire size will definitely effect your MPH...I run 255/40/17s on my car...If I tried to stay in 4th & bounce of my 8300 limiter I may hit 122mph, MAYBE...

Yeah I am on 235/40/18's right now. If I put some 255/40/18's on there I could get some more MPH out of it, that would make it about a 26 inch overall diameter. I'm sure it will also throw my speedo of a little.

Your speedo would be close to 2 mph off...That size tire may rub as well, depending on how low you are...

When I had the stock turbo and the stock EVO 9 trans in my car, with 245/45/17 tires it would go thur the traps at 123~ on the 8500 limiter well before the traps. Never bother to shift to 5th.

What power are you making currently? I see the mods just wasn't sure about actual dyno numbers. Also do u know ur cars weight?

Thanks man I wanna get 10s first time out after I get retuned. Should be within reach but I'll be running all seasons so may be low 11s with a crazy fast trap lol

Thats awesome!! Your time slip looks very similar to mine! I also have the same tire size as you and was running out of 4th at 116mph

@ adrenalinerush my car is making a little over 400HP/TQ and the car is a full weight MR minus the wing lol. Solow don't you just hate running out of gear. Im sure if i had longer gears I would be trapping close to 120, also if I could cut a 1.6 60 ft I can see it running an 11.5!

sounds about right!!

When I went to the track, there was head wind of 17mph and the DA is pretty high... I wanna go back and see what it will do on a nice day with a better 60' So the 05 MR have 10.5 hotside right?

Wha clutch you running? How are you getting the 6spd to hold down 400? I was told they let go over 350?

Thanks, I'm using the ACT HDSS. The 6 speed holds fine as long as you dont beat on it all day every day!
