Tried out the stock ROM with no difference and so now waiting impatiently for the new cam sensor to come in the mail, Friday I'm guessing. Set my own record on a cam swap last night, put the Revolvers and UR cam gears back in and double checked timing, bolt torque, and wiring in under 45 minutes. I don't know what I'm gonna do with myself the next 2 days, maybe pull the dash out and clean up some wiring and get a bit of the Viper 5902 installed.
New cam sensor made no improvements. Have a FPR regulator on the way now. I was questioning why the fuel pump wasn't priming with the key "ON" yet would prime when actuated with EvoScan. The 10 year old Walbro that had started out in my other car and was installed in the Evo in '04 was pulled out last night, after sitting for 2.5 years without use, this is what it looks like:

yikes!!! lol
Yeah, I'm thinking the cars problem has been from drinking Oklahoma pond water this whole time. I'd like to rinse the tank out but not sure of the best way. With that, a new pump(akready ordered) and scrubbing the pump hanger, it should be good to go unless the tank walls are rusty, I'll find out when I drain the tank once again.

Ya with that much build up after you start drving it I would be changing your fuel filter/checking the filter on your fuel pump quite often til the debri goes away
I picked up 2 more filters. I'll probably run a 1/4 tank of gas through the filter than the pump comes with(used, low mileage Walbro) then put new one in if this turns out to be the cars problem this whole time. I don't want to throw hundreds of dollar in tags and insurance on a car that hasn't had either since '08 if I can't drive it yet.
Got these in the mail and I hope it does the trick. I didn't want to pull the tank but I pulled the hanger assembles from each side and clean the insides. There was a thick amount of rust/dirt on both sides. I still can't believe the amount of that stuff that made it into the filter, once it was dry, I could tap it and all that dirt would come out nonstop. Gotta pick up a few gallons of gas to put in after work and hopefully have a problem-free drive tonight, that would be pretty cool.

crossing my fingers for ya!!
Everything came out great. As expected, it took quite a bit of cranking to get it started but after that, it stayed idling and I could rev the engine a little without having the rpm drop to nothing and die. The true test was starting the engine repeatedly without using any throttle input and it did so every time. Didn't do any driving yet as I was content with it running as it should. Hoping to get some logs tonight but have to reset the idle and injector scaling to where they need to be first.
On Tuesday, I took the car out for a log. Only ran the car to 5200 rpm while watching the AFRs and knock CEL set a 1 count to catch anything immediately. Didn't get to check the boost until I looked at the log. I let out at 5200 as I got a CEL and I wanted Jestr to look at the log and make sure everything look right. Logs showed 3 counts of knock and a peak of 28.8psi, and it felt great especially for 91 octane. VDR showed 397whp and 423wtq. I came home from work Wednesday, I went to start up the car and had no luck, won't even try to start so here we go again. I pulled the pump and everything looks good, gets fuel to the rail when cranking and primes when actuated with EvoScan. I just changed to a brand new filter and about to drop it in and see what I get.
It's been a while but everything is sorted out with the car so I got insured yesterday and tagged today. Tags were much cheaper than expected for being out 4+ years. Still in the middle of WOT tuning and slowing making progress with that as my A/C compressor isn't turning and it's been 100+ degrees every day.
Will try to get some new pic uploaded tomorrow.
Your initiative, knowledge, patience, determination, and apparent income amazes me. I hate you! lol (jealousy speaking)
I don't hate your luck though...sounds like you've had some frustrating days...
I definitely had days were I wanted to quit and sell it but I've missed driving that car since the night I had to haul it home on a trailer and a day didn't go by without me missing the glory. The years of not touching it lead to most of the problems but never had time, money, or really knew how to go about getting another engine in it.
After all these issues, I have plenty of spare parts, know how to build an engine and how it all works, know not to trust buying a built(assembled with thrust washers backward & no clearances measured) engine from a certain NY vendor for a price that IS to good to be true and can be proud to say that I revived this car by myself with the help of some forums and a local machine shop to do some work to the block and polish the crank. The engine came together slowly as I always had parts coming in the mail and made sure to replace anything that needed to be.
So I'm glad I stuck with it even after the several times I was at a loss on the cars startup problems(bad immobilizer), I have put 31 miles on it as of this morning and everytime the Tial WG cracks open, it was all worth the trouble.
Finally daily driving this thing, still need to get pics of the fuel cell set up and random pics in the daytime. Still running on the base tune and will start getting the rest of it started tonight.

Still waiting to see this car in person.....lol
this car actually exists? lol
Got most of a minor wire tuck done tonight, as well as the Rexpeed Type C CF wing and smoked signal markers installed. Tried to install the Bay Speed Aero CF VG and it fit like garbage, didn't lay flat anywhere. Will have to do some cutting to get it to fit right.
Until I get some pics, here's a full mod list I worked on over a year now. Might be missing 1 or 2 things.

My buddy's trunk looks similar to yours in his GVR4. You are gonna need more fuel pump tho![]()
Yeah, I still got a nicely sized EGR vent tube running to the engine bay. I'll throw in a Bosch 044 inline to that tube, that and the current Walbro should be all I'll ever need.

still using the wally 400 intank. Stock fuel tank is sumped and going to a MagnaFuel 4303 via Hobbs switch in replacement to the 044. Pretty excited. I ordered it a while ago, hoping it comes in this week
Found this commonly seen item on my magnetic drain bolt when I changed the oil last night. I'm thinking it happened yesterday after work as I was running the car pretty hard with a coworker on board and then did 3 back to back WOT logs. I'll have to take a closer look later to see if it contacted the piston or just vibrated to its death. My balance shafts are deleted with an AMS style machined one up front but I had the rotating assembly balanced along with a Fluidampr installed so vibrations aren't too bad.

wow what is that? lol
^I was wondering the same thing.
I envy your running evo!!it's cool that you did it yourself though. Makes it all more worth the end result.
