I went to wash my car the other day and noticed a abundance of little specks that look like rust!
I scrubbed for a long time and there still there, anyone else have this?
I bought a clay bar and it took me almost a hour to do just the trunk!!! Wtf! Any other way to get this off faster by hand?

Thats normal. You get that from brake dust and similar things that kick up metal particles. Clay bar and waxing should take care of it no problem. It may take a while but once done it'll be worth it when you get that smooth glass feeling again.

Yeah, you should see it most on white. Claybar is the only thing I have found that gets it off. I have seen it on silver as well though.

They are rusting iron deposits in your paint. They can come from brakes or debris in the road. I have them from my brakes in my silver paint.

Do not and I repeat, do not clay the car with these in the paint without using something to remove it like this:

    https://detailersdomain.com/Aquartz-Iron-Cut_p_327.html

You wash the car like normal, spray the stuff on, and then you can clay. They should come right out. I'd also recommend using a nice wheel cleaner as well in addition to remove the brake dust from your wheels so it doesn't spread to the paint around the fenders.

I haven't seen any local places carry it. Autozone may carry something similar, but this is the best product I've used so far. I'm sure you could search around your area for detailing stores as well. IronX is another decent one too.

The problem with simply claying and waxing, you remove the surface rust deposit, but the underlying stuff is still there doing damage. In fact, if you don't remove it and just clay/wax, you're sealing the stuff in even further. These sprays work to pull the stuff out completely.

Sounds like rail dust. I wipe the whole car down with wozards triple cut, then clay then a good clearcoat sealant.

Hmm close to 130,000 miles on my TB Evo and I haven't seen any of these. Little white specs from paint chipping from rocks and what not but no rust. Except underneath the car a little lol

Just clay barred my car this weekend and it was way worse than I thought. Took me 3 hours to do the clay bar and waxing. Then I had to do the interior and that took me another hour. Sucks but the car is all sorts of pretty now.

Awesome! It will do wonders. Take some before and after pictures. It is amazing to see the stuff pull the iron out. There will probably be a lot more than you thought.

It may take a few washes to get it all out. But the first time should really cut down on them visibly. After a good clay and wax it should look like a night and day difference. Just keep up on the Iron X every time you wash until there is none left. And then just do it occasionally since your car is being exposed to the deposits some how.
